HB 101 is sponsored by Rep Perry Thurston of the 93 District in Broward county. It is an insidious Bill that, if adopted, will allow every county in Florida to write their own Breed Specific Legislation. Counties can be fickle depending on who’s in charge, and knee-jerk reactions to one-dog incidents can happen. This bill is DANGEROUS. The time to act is now. Sign the petition agains HB 101. Write letters to Perry Thurston, your Representatives, Governor Crist, and Lt. Governor Kottkamp. If you don’t get involved now, and this bill passes, you could be saying good-bye to your beloved family member if the county you live in decides to ban your breed. If this bill happens, banning breeds can happen. There would be no more security that your breed of dog is legal in your own home no matter what county you live in. Let’s stop this insane and inane bill by working together and voicing our opinions.
